AU History: Chris Ramirez grew up as the only child of Ranger Daniel Ramirez and Guard Carmen Ramirez. As he was the only child of two Trainers/Enlightened, there was tremendous pressure from his father to join the Rangers. (Or as his father Daniel put it: four generations of Ramirez men have been Rangers and no son of his would break tradition.) When he was very young, (about six or seven years old) his mother Carmen was unable to have any more children, after an attack by a wild Pokemon had severly injured her. She survived the attack, but was forced to resign from her Guard position.

It was after this incident that further pressure and training from his father towards Chris becoming a Ranger. Unwilling to diappoint him and not wanting any further arguements between his parents, as his mother was quite vocal in allowing Chris his choose his own path. This coupled with the fact that he still had yet to bond with a Pokemon and his average test scores in school seem to push him towards a seemingly different goal than what his father wanted.

By the time who was ten however, he had an encounter with an Eevee which bonded with him after he accidently upset an Enlightened's Venipede which tried to bite him at first. After seeing this, the Eevee defended Chris and the Enlightened saw this as the Venipede nearly fainted from a Tackle. Afterwards, Chris bonded with the Eevee. Finding out that his new Eevee partner was female, he decided to name her 'Carmen' after his mother much to her amusement.

As the next few years go by Chris, his father increased Chris' training to become a Ranger. However as the training continued, he began to have lost the desire to want to be a Ranger and only continued the training to make his father happy. He nervously awaits to that day when he would be forced as a Ranger rather than what he wanted to do. His mother remained a source of encouragement as he hadn't made many friends in his life however the ones he has made would be friends for life.

He has had less than perfect school scores, average at best. Chris has made a few aquaintances through his parents' circle of friends and coworkers though he is a very quiet and reserved person on the best of days. The years pass and nothing noteworthy happens until about a month after his sixteenth birthday where he begins to have a serious case of coughing. He has had other cases in years pass where after a normal training regiment his symptoms would improve. He is taken to a doctor where Chris is revealed to his parents to have a moderate case of asthma and it would eventually get to the point where his condition could be life-threatening and told them that Chris being a Ranger was impossible.

Naturally, Chris' father protested the very nature of Chris' condition to the point of demanding of run more tests. Chris being more out of worry for his father's reaction, tried to reassure his father when he was hastily cut off by him. The doctor unfazed by Ranger Ramirez anger, told the three of them Chris would have to find something less dangerous and physical than the Rangers to find a career in. Anything that required anything majorly physcial and require him to work alone was out. No Rangers, Guard, or even Farmer. They all were out.

The next two years weare not a good time for Chris after this and he began to get even more withdrawn than usual with his father refusing to admit that Chris even had asthma, let alone his dreams of serving in the Rangers dashed. Needless to say he was disappointed in Chris was an understatement. It was during this time however while getting some food for Carmen and himself that he saw something in him that kind of was vacant after some friend of his (feel free to have some unknown person in game to be said person) noticed some metallic silver 'pieces' forming on his arms. They were only about the size of a tennis ball and every time he would touch it would move around his arm.

After showing this to his mother as at this point, his dad was a lost cause as far as having a personal relationship with him. His mother was amazed when he showed her as this meant he was now an Enlightened. Using all the pull she had still in the Guard, and was able to get him to become what he wanted all along: a Delver. Chris feeling a sort of joy and happiness in the first time in a long time, thanked his mother gratefully. At the age of eighteen he left to become a Delver on the condition he never goes anywhere dangerous without someone else. Chris agreed and he began his journey to become a great Delver. He was given a sword by his mother to defend himself as necessary as a farewell gift. That was one year ago, Chris is now nineteen and eager to enter the outside world with his Eevee partner Carmen.

For his first few weeks of being a Delver, Chris was able to explore a little bit on his own and even with a group to the mountain area early on until he had gotten lost. Alone and by himself except for Carmen, he came across a herd of Aron which took him by surprise and overwhelmed Chris and Carmen easily. Afterwards he saw nothing but blackness, when he awoke he was in the Forest Shrine with him and Carmen being tended to. After he was fully healed and rested, he took the safer but longer path to Union.

Canon Personality: Chris is someone who has no problem taking orders from people regardless of age or gender or anything else. He does however have trouble giving orders if he was put in such a situation. Being from a family of marines through four generations, has given Chris a bit of no confidance in his own abilities and has given serious doubts about himself. Generally soft-spoken, he rarely speaks his mind about subjects unless questioned. He considers his asthma a liability of himself on the battlefield. That isn't to say he's not brave. He tends to jump the gun sometimes, and when he deals with other authority types like his father, he'll rather meekly fall in line. He is rather intimidated by large problems as he can get rather stubborn when he thinks he's right. Chris is very loyal when you get to know him, and he trusts what few friends he has completely. He's also a bit naive and innocent when it comes to police and military figures and wouldn't dream of ignoring or disobeying them.

As a Kamen Rider in his own world, he deemed his asthma a liability because he in part felt he was in the way of Kit and Len's way stopping Xaviax. The other part was that after he was discharged from the Marines he felt powerless during the meeting with Marine doctor and felt at the core that maybe something was wrong with him to have failed completely. As his father always says 'let the training guide you', Chris felt he had better just let the other Riders take care of this because he couldn't even help himself. While he had initially believed his asthma gives him the firm belief that heart is no good without strength, he ever so slowly changed his mind in no short way thanks to Len and Kit. Chris initially thought he couldn't face his failure but with the bonds he made with Kit, Len, and Maya made him think twice and tried to keep a cool head during battles. He took Len's advice at heart and tried his hardest to learn his lessons and training. The reason why he's brave is because he's loyal, trustworthy, and selfless. He would put himself at risk long before his friends would have. A self sacrificing person, he would take other people's feelings and thoughts into consideration before his own.

In short, he is a young man who just wants to make his friends and family proud of him. Chris would risk his very life for those he cares for. While very softspoken, he will not give up on his friends as they won't give up on him.

Chris' main reasoning for liking to give orders is that well... he likely doesn't feel he would be that good of a leader. Most likely this stems from the fact that the last four generations of Ramirez men are war heroes dating back to World War One. There have been a few notable examples of him wanting to do his father Dan Ramirez proud. For example, he has stated in the end of episode 18 The Cho Brothers that he considered himself a major disappointment to his father and to himself for not being able to do his duty as a marine.

Another one is that while he has a deep respect for his father, he is rather submissive to his father as seen in the flashback is in the episode 12: Kamen Rider Sting. Even when he tries to intervene between the doctor who gave him the news about being asthmatic and his father who rapidly and angrily dismissed it, he is shut down verbally by his father. Despite this rare form of communication between Chris and his father, he does have a deepseated respect if only grudgingly for him.

AU Deviation: The major difference is unlike his canon his mother isn't featured at all, which implies she is absent in some form. With her somewhat calmer influence on Chris' behavior when she more or less replaces canon character Maya Young as far as a smart and reasonable middle-aged woman who reigns her pushy husband and introvert son and tries her best to keep them from suffering from the other.

Also without the appearance of Kit and Len in the AU, there's even less of Chris defending himself to his father and the only reason he isn't a Ranger is that both his mother and the doctors refuse to put him in harms way. (Which is very similar to how it happened in canon) Chris still is very much a quiet person generally only speaking when directed to him.

Canon Abilities: All Kamen Riders have what is called an Advent Deck and is their source of power for all Kamen Riders. Each Rider has their own Advent Beast in their deck which can give them additional power. Chris' particular Beast is a maroon manta ray-like creature by the name of Evildiver. While he doesn't have flight or super strength, as a Kamen Rider he has enhanced speed, durability and strength compareable to a major athlete. It's nothing too far outside the range of normal human though. To activate his powers he says 'Kamen Rider!' and a belt is transformed onto his body, he inserts the deck and he becomes Kamen Rider Sting.

In addition to his own strength as a Kamen Rider, his cards in his Advent Deck can help him in situations. The ones his uses are: Swing Vent which gives him a whip, Copy Vent which replicates or copies an opponent's weapon, Attack Vent which has Evildiver attack the opponent and Final Vent which he jumps onto Evildiver to use like a surfboard, and rams into his opponent.

Also through his Advent Deck he can travel back and forth between Earth and Ventara through mirrors and any other reflective surfaces even without him in Rider form. He can also sense creatures from his 'universe' called mirror monsters that primarily live in Ventara and periodically attack people on Earth.

Enlightened Abilities:
I will be making Chris a Fire/Steel Enlightened (Fire because almost every time he used his Copy Vent in canon it was usually of a Fire-based weapon, Steel because of the armor Chris wears as Kamen Rider Sting.) with the Kindred Soul perk which hints at Chris' true strength as his heart connects with Pokemon easily once he had Carmen the Eevee as his partner. He also owns a sword with the Fire type inside it.

(Bear in mind mods, that I'm not sure about if Chris is too highly powered but if anything needs correcting or changing let me know.)

Initially, Chris had only a basic powers related to being a Fire/Steel Enlightened, most them being physical attacks like Metal Claw and a weaker version of Fire Punch. He would have little control over his fire-based powers, only showing up under times of sheer stress or emotion. His Steel type moves have a slightly different effect, as the Steel type is evident on parts of his arms. He can slightly redirect this metal to his hands but that is about it.

Upon his first evolution, Chris' Steel type armor begins to show more and more covering his chest and back. He becomes more significantly durable to any types he wouldn't be weak against. The only Fire type influence would be in the sword as it grows larger and the blade is more pronounced.

Upon his final evolution, the Steel type has almost covered his limbs and body, a flame symbol is on his chest and the longer Chris fights the more aggressive his fire moves become. He is easily able to perform a high powered Flare Blitz at great risk to himself.

Starter Pokémon: Eevee, female named Carmen.

Notes/Special Considerations: I would like Chris to both have a Fire-based sword and to eventually to do a whole masked-hero vigilante thing somewhat similar to what he did as Sting in his canon. Other than that, nothing else comes to mind.

First-Person: [Text]
Greetings everyone. Can I have your attention if you don't mind? My name is Chris Ramirez, former Ranger-in-training now Delver and I have a few questions to pose to you. First off, if you are a Ranger or even a Guard you may or may not have heard my surname in relation to any doctors or physicians. Not to mention the fact that I am from a long line of Rangers so... needless to say that I am breaking the tradition is kind of stating the obvious to put it mildly.

My first question is how much do names and first impressions come to you? Are they important? Should someone be held accountable for a relative's crime, no matter how major or minor? One more final question and then I will be gone. What to you defines 'loyalty'? Thank you, everyone for your time. For those who are Delvers and those who work with them, you will likely see me soon. I appreciate your understanding.

[Text message ends.]

Third-Person: Question version:

To what lengths would you go to rescue your allies if they were lost in the wilderness?
No matter how much time had passed, no matter if they were only gone a day or more than a year I wouldn't give up on anyone. I would do everything in my power to bring him or her home again. Even if I had to die in the process to bring them home.

What would you say the most important occupation is within Union? Off the record, I think the Delvers have the most important job in Union. Primarily because they are responsible for bringing all sorts of things to Union, whether it's merely resources for the city or any sort of trainer items for Pokemon like a Mystic Water.

What aspects and traits do you respect most in your individual fellow man? The traits that I respect the most would be loyalty, self-reliance, and friendship. These are the traits that have been in me my whole life. There is nothing worse than someone who is none of these traits in my opinion, a sad and lonely person that is.

What do you look for in the Pokémon with whom you bond? While there are no wrong Pokemon for me. (I have no preference of type) I would prefer Pokemon with whom I haven't bonded with at all first of all. Secondly, while I don't have preference with those types I would like to bond with I do enjoy spending time with those that are speedy to balance my own lack of speed. Also, I would like to bond with a Pawniard at some opportunity as I have always admired their ways of battling.

In your eyes, what is absolutely unforgivable? That is simple: betraying a friend or ally is not forgiveable especially if the person shows no remorse with what they have done. I f they do show remorse, however I might forgive them depending on the circumstances.

A human has attacked a wild Pokémon who retaliates in defense. How do you respond and whom do you defend? I would intervene as the wild Pokemon was clearly in the right, and I would keep the human from doing serious harm to said Pokemon. I wouldn't attack in kind just subdue him until the Rangers arrived. Now if the Pokemon was at fault that would be a different story.

You plunge into the depths of the Old City. What is it that you seek from the past? Treasure, technology, wisdom?

It would depend on what the city would need most at the time: resources, items connected to Pokemon, tech salvage, etc. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of one, in this case the needs of Union outwighs my needs. Though I do admit, I would like to learn about some of the history from the time before Union existed.

When encountering a rare and powerful Pokémon, what is most important? Researching it, bonding with it, or defeating it?
Why?

I would try to bond with it, naturally as that may not be the safest option depending on the Pokemon I would be very cautious and take it slowly. Why? Because we need help to survive in Union and Pokemon are the easiest way we can learn about this world to survive.

What area do you seek to explore? The peaceful forest, in search of new, previously overlooked discoveries; the uncharted caves, in search of the unknown; or the wildest of mountain terrain, in search of danger, adventure, and thrills?

All of them are real good choices to be perfectly honest because they all offer a chnace to explore the world and find new things. However if I had to pick, I would take the forest primarily because of the quiet and seemingly harmless inhabitants. Forests are treasure troves of hidden pokemon, particularly for Grass types.
